Community Policing Course Overview

Community policing is an important aspect of a law enforcement career. Our course introduces participants to fundamentals of 21st Century effective community policing principles and competencies. Learn what makes a good community policing officer and explore ways to you can develop the needed skills. Structure and core assumption for this course is drawn wholly from the additional training recommendations for law enforcement officers’ educational achievements and social skills as defined within Pillar 5 (Training and Education) outlined in the Interim Report of The President's Task Force on 21st Century Policing. Upon completion participants will be introduced to and learn concepts and components of: • Effective Communication • Cultural Sensitivity and Community Policing • Implicit Bias • De-escalation Techniques
